CV Formatting Software Pricing: Cost per CV Compared

CV formatting software pricing for recruitment agencies: published plans and cost per CV for 20 tools, with free trials and units, as of 11 October 2026.

CV formatting software pricing is hard to compare because every vendor counts something different: CVs, exports, credits, candidates a year or seats. This page puts the published prices of 20 CV formatting tools (19 competitors and CVPitch) side by side and works out an effective cost per CV where the published numbers allow it, so your agency can see what a month of formatting really costs.

A declaration first: we make CVPitch, which is in the table. Every competitor price below is the vendor's published pricing as captured from its public website on 11 October 2026, in the vendor's own currency and usually excluding VAT. CVPitch prices are as of 12 October 2026. We did not use sales quotes, prices found only in website code, or exchange-rate conversions. Prices change often, so check each vendor's own page before you buy.

What the numbers mean

The cheapest per CV

On published prices, ConnectIQ and CVPitch have the lowest cost per CV. ConnectIQ runs from £0.15 on its £15 Starter plan to about £0.09 on Scale, and CVPitch from about $0.19 per export on its $19 Starter plan to about $0.12 on Agency. One prices in pounds and the other in dollars, so at 100 and 1,000 CVs a month they are roughly comparable, depending on the exchange rate. RefineCV ($0.40 pay-as-you-go, $0.25 on Pro) and CVReady ($0.49 to $0.33) follow.

Units are not the same

  • Per CV or per export. Most tools count a formatted CV. CVPitch counts one export: an approved CV delivered as a matching Word and PDF pair. Exporting the same submission again, for a second client template or after a correction, is free.
  • Counted at upload or at export. CVReady counts a CV at upload. CVPitch charges an export only when an approved CV is first exported, and failed processing jobs never use an export or AI credit.
  • Credits that also pay for AI features. CVFormatter (enhance credits) and Tlntly (AI credits) meter some AI work separately. CVPitch includes monthly AI credits for OCR and optional AI writing (100 on Starter, 400 on Pro, 1,200 on Agency) and sells packs that never expire.
  • Candidates a year, seats or quotes. HireAra prices by candidates a year, RemakeCV, Tlntly and Kepler by seat, and Allsorter, iReformat, Daxtra and CV-Transformer by quote, so a per-CV figure depends on your usage.

Rollover and top-ups

CVReady and Formatix roll unused allowance over, Formatix capped at twice the allowance. Distill's pricing page says there is no rollover. CVPitch carries unused exports over to the next month once, up to one month's allowance.

How to compare for your agency

  1. Count your real volume, including CVs you reformat for a second client or after a correction. If those are charged again, your effective price is higher than the table shows.
  2. Price the add-ons you need: extra templates, OCR for scans, translation, ATS integration and extra seats.
  3. Check what a failure costs. A tool that charges at upload may charge for a CV you never send.
  4. Run the same synthetic CV through each trial and compare the output with the source line by line. Our best CV formatting software guide lists what to check, and the free CV formatting cost calculator works out your cost per CV by hand against each CVPitch plan.

CVPitch pricing in detail

  • Free trial: 10 exports and 25 AI credits, no card.
  • Starter: $19 a month for 100 exports. Pro: $49 for 300. Agency: $119 for 1,000, plus white-label branding and a custom client domain.
  • Every plan: unlimited users, every other feature, native ATS connectors, email intake, REST API, webhooks and the MCP server.
  • Uploads: each plan includes an upload allowance, by default twice the export allowance. Uploading the same file again within 24 hours reuses the first result.
  • Free: draft previews, re-exports of the same submission and failed jobs. Format-only mode uses no AI credits for PDFs with a text layer and Word files (scans still use 1 AI credit per page for text recognition).
  • Rollover: unused exports carry over once, up to one month's allowance.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest CV formatting software?

On published pricing, ConnectIQ (about £0.09 per CV on its £89 plan for 1,000 CVs a month, as of 11 October 2026) and CVPitch (about $0.12 per export on its $119 plan for 1,000, as of 12 October 2026) have the lowest cost per CV at volume; which is lower depends on the exchange rate. For fewer than about 45 CVs a month, RefineCV's $0.40 pay-as-you-go can cost less than a $19 subscription.

How much does CV formatting software cost per CV?

Among tools that publish a per-CV price or a plan allowance, effective prices ranged from about £0.09 to £1.99 per CV on 11 October 2026, before add-ons, overage and annual discounts.

Why do some vendors not publish prices?

Allsorter, iReformat, Daxtra and CV-Transformer price by quote, usually because onboarding, template setup or integration work is part of the deal. Ask for the per-CV rate and what is included.
