CVPitch vs FormaCV: Self-Serve vs Custom-Onboarded CVs

CVPitch vs FormaCV for recruitment agencies: published per-CV pricing, self-serve vs custom onboarding, AI tailoring, MCP and integrations, 11 Oct 2026.

CVPitch vs FormaCV is a choice between two ways of buying CV formatting. FormaCV publishes a flat $0.99 per CV and onboards every customer into their own instance with custom integration work. CVPitch is self-serve: you sign up, set up your template and start formatting, on monthly plans that work out at about $0.12 to $0.19 per CV. Both connect to AI assistants through an MCP server; they differ most on onboarding, price and how far the AI is allowed to change a CV.

How we compared them: we make CVPitch. FormaCV details below come from its public home, pricing, integrations and security pages as published on 11 October 2026. FormaCV is not self-serve, so we have not used its customer app; we compare published prices and advertised features, not output quality.

CVPitch vs FormaCV: the short answer

Choose FormaCV if you want a vendor to integrate the product with your systems for you, need a dedicated instance or on-premises option, want CVs tailored to each vacancy, or build CVs from call transcripts.

Choose CVPitch if you want to start today without a sales process, pay less per CV, keep the candidate's wording unless a recruiter accepts a change, and check every fact against its source before approval.

Where CVPitch differs

Start the same day

There is no call or onboarding project. Create a workspace, choose a layout or upload your own tagged Word template (or fill your brand name and colours from your website), and format a synthetic CV to check the output. Email intake, ATS connectors, API keys and the MCP connector are set up by a workspace owner from the app.

The candidate's words stay the candidate's

CVPitch does not tailor or rewrite experience by default. Extraction lays out what the CV says, every fact shows its source, and optional AI writing returns proposals you accept or reject. For the strictest cases, "Format only — no AI" keeps every line exactly as written. See AI transparency.

Your own field mapping through the API

ATS partners and in-house teams can post a JSON Schema of their own fields to the extraction endpoint and get values back for a submission, with any string that cannot be found word for word in the source listed for review. It uses one AI credit per call. See the developer docs.

Where FormaCV may be the better choice

  • Done-for-you integration. If you need the product wired into an ATS or ERP that CVPitch does not connect to, FormaCV sells that work.
  • Dedicated or on-premises instance. FormaCV advertises an isolated instance per customer and on-premises options. CVPitch runs as a shared service, with self-hosting under licence on request.
  • Vacancy tailoring and transcripts. FormaCV advertises CVs tailored to a vacancy and built from call transcripts. CVPitch imports transcripts as labelled notes, never as CV facts.
  • US hosting. FormaCV lists a US region; CVPitch is hosted in the EU.

Questions to ask in either trial

  • What changes did the AI make? Compare the output with the source line by line, especially dates, qualifications and figures.
  • What does a correction cost? Check whether a re-format after 24 hours, or a different client template, is charged again.
  • What is included in onboarding? Ask what integration work, template setup and support are in the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is FormaCV cheaper than CVPitch?

Not on published pricing as of 11 October 2026: FormaCV lists $0.99 per CV, and CVPitch works out at about $0.19 to $0.12 per CV depending on plan. FormaCV's price comes with custom onboarding and integration services.

Do both have an MCP server?

Yes. FormaCV advertises an MCP server with scoped tokens. CVPitch's remote MCP server at https://cvpitch.app/mcp lets Claude and ChatGPT list submissions, check status and export already-approved CVs, but never approve.

Can I try CVPitch without talking to sales?

Yes. Sign up for a free trial with 10 exports and 25 AI credits, no card.
