CVPitch vs CV-Transformer: CV Formatting Compared

CVPitch vs CV-Transformer for recruitment agencies: pricing, layout design, chat editing, share links, EU storage and fact checking, tested October 2026.

CVPitch vs CV-Transformer is a choice between layout freedom and fact control. CV-Transformer combines a layout designer, a chat-driven document editor, web-link sharing, organisation inboxes and EU storage. CVPitch is focused on getting facts right: every fact linked to its source passage, approval tied to the exact version, and an editable Word file plus matching PDF from that one approved snapshot. It now also covers several of the same basics, such as scan and photo intake, chat edits, undo and redo, and email intake.

How we compared them: we make CVPitch. On 10 October 2026 we used CV-Transformer's public live editor, which needs no account, with a synthetic CV. We extracted it, made corrections by chat, removed contact details, reformatted bullets, switched layouts and used Undo and Redo. When we chose Preview & Share, the editor asked us to contact CV-Transformer for full access, so we did not export a file or test sharing, inboxes, integrations or the layout designer.

The short answer

Choose CV-Transformer if you want to design custom layouts in a visual designer, prefer editing the document itself rather than structured fields, or want the EU storage it advertises.

Choose CVPitch if you want a published price you can start on today, a review step that shows the source for each fact, approval that resets on any change, an evidence-backed job match and pitch email, or native connectors for ATSs such as Greenhouse, Lever and Workable.

Who each tool suits

CV-Transformer suits

  • Agencies that care about layout and want a designer for their own templates.
  • Recruiters who like to work in the document and give instructions such as "turn these paragraphs into bullets". In our test, chat edits applied cleanly, and Undo and Redo restored and reapplied them.
  • Agencies needing EU storage, organisation inboxes, ATS partners, an API and webhooks, all of which it advertises.

CVPitch suits

  • Agencies that want to sign up and export on the same day, with 10 free exports and no card.
  • Desks where every client submission must be checked against the source and signed off.
  • Recruiters who pitch candidates against job descriptions.
  • Teams that want to work from Claude or ChatGPT, get Slack, Teams, Discord or Google Chat alerts, or move files to and from a connected ATS.

Where CVPitch differs

Evidence per fact, then a sign-off

CV-Transformer shows the source next to the document, which helps. CVPitch links each individual fact (employer, title, dates, qualification, skill) to its passage, marks unsupported facts as unverified, labels anything a recruiter adds, and raises review flags that must be resolved before approval. Approval then covers the facts, template version and contact-removal policy together. Any later edit needs a new approval.

Changes are proposed, not silently applied

In CVPitch, AI chat edits, rewrites and suggestions from an AI assistant are shown as proposals: you accept or reject each change, accepted changes create a new revision you can compare or restore, and the CV needs approving again. Server-side checks drop suggestions that alter protected facts such as employers, titles and dates. Neither assistants nor integrations can approve a submission.

Job match with the evidence beside it

Paste a job description and CVPitch marks each requirement as evidenced, partly evidenced or not shown, with the supporting passage. The matching is deterministic, with no AI guessing, and it drafts an editable pitch email that cites the evidence, plus gaps to confirm with the candidate.

Contact removal that includes metadata

Selected contact details are removed from the generated DOCX, PDF and hidden document metadata, and the original is stored separately, never overwritten. See how to remove contact details from a CV.

Published, self-serve pricing

You can see CVPitch's prices, sign up and export without a sales call. Every plan includes unlimited users, monthly AI credits and every feature except white-label and a custom client domain, which come with Agency. See pricing.

Parity features

Both products offer link sharing; CV-Transformer advertises analytics on its links, and CVPitch's links show opens, downloads and unique visitors and collect the client's response. CV-Transformer advertises image intake and organisation inboxes, and its chat editing with Undo and Redo worked in our test. CVPitch now has its own versions: it reads scans and photos by OCR (1 AI credit per page), gives each workspace a private address to forward CVs to, and offers AI chat edits, undo, redo and version history. Weigh these as parity.

Where CV-Transformer may be the better choice

  • Direct editing. For recruiters who think in documents rather than fields, editing the document itself is quicker to learn.
  • Layout control. A visual designer for custom layouts goes beyond CVPitch's five layouts and tagged Word templates.
  • EU storage as a feature. CV-Transformer advertises EU storage. CVPitch shows its hosting region on the privacy page rather than offering a choice of region.
  • Multilingual work. Its editor offered English (US) and Dutch. CVPitch can translate a CV into 14 languages as a reviewed proposal, but its personal-detail detection relies on English labels.

Pricing compared

CV-Transformer's pricing page is interactive; the configuration we saw showed €170 a month for 100 candidates and €1.70 for each additional candidate. Other configurations may differ. CVPitch's published plans are $49 a month for 200 exports (Pro) and $99 for 500 (Agency), with unlimited users and monthly AI credits for OCR and AI writing. The currencies and units differ, so check both against your monthly volume.

Questions to ask before you buy

Whichever way you lean, these questions turn advertised features into facts you can rely on:

  • What counts as a candidate? CV-Transformer's displayed price is per candidate. Ask whether re-editing, re-exporting or sharing the same candidate again counts twice.
  • What do link analytics record? If you share CVs by web link, ask what is tracked about the client and how long it is kept.
  • Where is data stored and for how long? EU storage, candidate expiry and auto-deletion are advertised; ask for the default settings and the data processing terms.
  • Which ATS partners are native? "ATS partners" can mean a full integration or a file export. Ask for a demo with your own ATS.
  • What happens after an edit? Ask whether a changed CV needs signing off again before it can be shared, or whether the latest edit goes out automatically.

Ask CVPitch the same questions. Our answers: one export is one approved CV as a DOCX + PDF pair and re-downloads are free; share links record opens, downloads, unique visitors and the client's response; you set retention from 1 to 90 days; native connectors cover Greenhouse, Lever, Workable, Ashby, Teamtailor, Recruitee, SmartRecruiters, Recruit CRM, Crelate and Manatal, with Bullhorn, JobAdder and Vincere waiting on partner approval; and any edit after approval needs a new approval.

Next steps

Run a synthetic CV with an incomplete qualification, a missing end date and contact details in the footer through CV-Transformer's live editor and CVPitch's free trial, then compare the final files. Frequently asked questions

Can I try CV-Transformer without an account?

Yes. Its public live editor processed our synthetic CV without an account. Exporting or sharing asked us to contact CV-Transformer for full access.

Does CVPitch have a layout designer?

Not a visual one. You pick one of five layouts (classic, modern, compact, executive or sidebar) and a font, then set agency name and logo, accent colour, section order, headings, required sections, page limit, privacy preset and optional coversheet. For anything else, upload your own Word template with simple placeholder tags.

Which tool is better for scanned CVs?

Both accept them. CV-Transformer advertises image intake. CVPitch reads scanned PDFs and photos with AI text recognition at 1 AI credit per page and flags the transcription for a recruiter to check against the image. We have not compared the two on scanned files.

Yes. A client opens a web profile of the approved CV, can download the files, and chooses Request interview, Maybe or Not a fit with a comment. You see opens, downloads and responses, and can revoke the link at any time.

CV-Transformer details reflect its public pages and public live editor as observed on 9–10 October 2026. Features and prices change, so check CV-Transformer's own site before deciding.
